I,m working up some loads for my .308. It is a Remington 700 acc sd,with a20 inch barrel with a 1/10 twist.
I usually use 45 grns of BLC -2 and 175 grn Berger VLD's my groups @ 200 yards are less than 3/4 of an inch.
I'm still tweaking things out. My question is, does anyone have any experience with .308 loads using N 540?

If you average 3/4"(.358MOA) at 200 yards, you are one of the best shooters on the planet!
You better get into competiton with that rifle!

What is you Standard Deviation?
Average velocity?

Been awhile but I have used the N500 series powders from VihtaVuori and like all of their powders got excellent results. Years ago I started shooting at a bench rest range and while not a bench rest type got plenty of lessons on VihtaVuori powders. So much so I started selling the stuff in my shop. Wish I had some of the 500 series stuff now. Maybe if I get out to the range they will have some and I want some 308 Lapua brass as well. I assume you already have the loading data.

Ron;
I was hoping some one in the forum might have some info or experience in N540 that would be helpful.

I' m sorry I forgot the 1 in front of the 3/4 of an inch. Just to be clear my group measured an 1&3/4 across.
My average velocity using 44.5 grns of BLC-2 is 2615.

Accurate 2520 and carbine barrels

Try accurate 2520 and 165gr I have 2 rifles an AR10 a Ruger M77 ultralight both do better than 1.75. If you can get an inch your doing real well plenty of data out there.

quesitons -

- is that benched on sandbags? or prone with bipod? or benched with bipod?

- how many in shot groups? (3, 5 or 10?)

- tell us about your optic/mounts?

- do you have a chrony?

- have you tried a ladder test or OWC test?
