Ive been using Win. small rifle primers for my 223. I found a good load,24.6 grns BLc-2 69 grn sierra hpbt, 1 in9 twist colt HBAR elite.I bought 100 of the CCI br 4 primers to try out, Whats the difference between the two ,and what can I expect with them.

Too many variables. Technically, you should lower your charge weight and work up using the new primer.

Some will argue that there will be no pressure difference.

Personally, I've switched between Winchester SR, CCI 400, and CCI BR4 with the same load with no issues. But that's my rifle and I was willing to risk any issues that may result from it.

I use CCI 400 for Service Rifle practice loads and CCI BR4 for Service Rifle competition loads.

I've found them to be very consistent and use them in my .204 loads (and I also use BL-C(2) alot with that). If you're near max load, it's always prudent to back off a little bit and work back up if you change anything at all.
