try
www.marlinowners.com for much more and better information regarding your .308ME.
Hornady and Hodgdon have data on their web sites as well.
Reloading it is much like loading for the 30-30, You will need to full length resize the brass for reliable feeding in the lever-action.
Also, you will need to use the Hornady 160gr FTX bullet as avaiable from
www.midwayusa.com or
www.grafs.com to come close to duplicating. Because of the proprietary powder that Hornady is using. at this time it's not possible to exactly duplicate the factory ammo. Hodgdon is going to be offering a new powder called LVR after the first of the year that will allow duplication of the Hornady ballistics.
However, using either Varget, BLC2. Win748 or Reloader15 powder, you can come rather close to duplicating the factory loads.
I've had outstanding performance with the .30/30 for many years with the Remington 150 and 170gr CorLokt Round Nose bullets. Although they won't shoot quite as flat as the Hornady factory loads. for most applications they'll do about all you could ask them to do,
Good luck with your entry into reloading. Do go to
www.marlinowners.com for additional information.
I've got a .338MX and I'm enjoying it immensely. I've worked up an excellent re-load for it with the 200gr Hornady FTX bullet as well as a 220gr cast bullet. Looking forward to deer season, too!
