I am looking for rings that might not exist. I need 30mm low, windage adjustable, quick detach rings. I doubt that anybody makes them, but I thought I would see if anyone here might know of something like that. I am mounting a CQ scope on a TWS rail on my Saiga. The TWS rails is slightly canted to the left, enough that I run out of windage on my scope trying to get it zeroed. If I can't find the rings I mentioned, I will probably go with the millett adjustable windage rings, which should be fine. But if possible I would really like to retain my QD feature.
Anybody have an idea?

Windage adjustable rings other than the Burris Signature rings are the devil. Surest way to mark up a scope tube (best case) or bend or bind a scope tube (worst case).

I use Burris Signature Standard rings (on Burris and Leupold bases) on both of my hunting rifles and the design of the Signature rings makes sure that you don't do any of the above and still gives you use of the windage adjustment.

DubbleA I will certainly look into those rings you suggested. Madcrate, that is an excellent idea, but I am going to try to keep the scope as low as possible. But if I find problems with my other options I will probably do just that.
Thanks guys. If anyone else has ideas bring 'em on.

+1 on the Burris Signature. They have inserts that give a good grip on the scope tube without marking it, and they eliminate the need for scope ring lappin, etc. You can get the inserts with built in offset that should correct for the slight cant on your rail. I think the Burris Zee rings, which are available in the Signature line, will fit Weaver style bases. They may fit your rail.

If price is no objective you should look at EAW rings and bases. You can see them on New England Custom Guns at http://newenglandcustomgun.com/ If you call ask for Todd.

EAW rings and bases can be had windage adjustable and 30mm is no problem. But a full set will cost about $400

And the front ring is basically a dovetail so working the windage on the back mount will not distort anything. I believe you could get the EAW bases and then search for an IOR set of rings which are an EAW clone and cost about $100 a pair.

A properly mounted set will absolutely let you click the scope on and off and it will return to zero every time. Very precisely engineered. But pricey:cool:

The tension on every dovetail set I've used is sufficient to bind a scope. Also I've yet to see a rear windage setup that swings an arc, they all move straight left and right, so even if the front pivots with zero friction, you end up with rings that do not have their bores aligned and the scope is bound up yet again.

The EAW front ring has a dovetail that you pivot into place. The front ring is designed to rotate in the base. And the friction on the rotation of the ring in the base is adjustable.

All of the recoil strain is taken up by the front mount. The rear base has screws that allow you to push the rear ring left or right so that it follows the arc defined between the front ring pivot point and the rear ring in its base. If you need to adjust the back of the scope up or down to get to your natural center on your scope parallel to your bore you can get rear bases that are thicker or thinner in .02 increments. The front ring dovetail is designed to let you tilt the back of the scope up or down without binding. And the friction on the rear mount is adjustable too.

There is no binding possible.

But at $400 a set they are about as pricey as anything I have ever seen.

Thanks for the input. That does look like the best setup. But since this is a short to medium range rifle ( Saiga 308 ) I don't think that $400 is in the picture. So it looks like the Signiture rings are the best deal for the money. Cool setup though. I didn't know all of these options existed.
