Exactly, that's the main problem with them. If your scope is mounted high enough to be able to use iron sights, it means you can't get a solid, consistent cheek weld with your scope. For a hunting rifle, I tend to agree that quick release aren't needed. It's not like the deer are shooting back at you if your optic breaks.Yes beginning to lean that way. Not even QR but just solid optilocks and be done. Thanks for the reply.
Well, sorry guys. I think cheek weld is over rated. I've used see through rings and found them quite adequate for close up shooting and was able to get good accuracy with them. The only think I don't like about them is how high they place the scope.
