i have 2 tomcats that both slug at .310. i ordered a sample pack of missouri bullets - 78 grain and .313 in diameter. fairly new to shooting lead and was wondering if the .313 was too large. will be using 1.8 grains of hp-38.

It won't be too big if a seated bullet in a case will even chamber?
But it may not.

Taper crimping it until it will will only result in squeezing the bullet under-size inside the case, and no case neck tension.

So, don't do that!!!!

1.8 grains of HP-38 might be a little light to cycle the action though!

I don't know.

Reloading data is all over the place for .32 ACP.

Try 1.8, and if it works, it works.

If it doesn't, bump it up to 2.0 or so.

Older Lyman data says 2.5 is MAX.

The .313 bullets offered by MBC are intended for .32 H&R revolvers. Your barrels seem like they are a bit tight though

My Tomcat shot real good with .311" cast (mine).
If they chamber ( should), they'll shoot fine.
You may need a little HP-38 than 1.8. Mine shot best with 1.8gr Bullseye or 2.3 gr HP-38.
With a 60gr JHP, I used 2.5gr. Bullseye or 2.7HP-38.
