I just noticed on the saami web page that they say not to use .32 S&W longs in a .32 H&R mag gun. Why is this? The max pressure for the mag is so much higher (almost double) of the long, the bullet is the same diameter, and as far as I know they only come in revolvers so chamber length isn't as big of an issue. I thought it was like shooting a .38sp out of a .357 (which is safe). Can anyone shine a light on this for me?

perfectly ok. like 38's in a 357; just scrub the chambers real good before going back to the mags. 32 shorts and 32acp will also function fine.

I'll keep the acp's out of it thank you :) I just had a bunch of longs that I used before I found the saami site that said not to. Just double checking my info to keep from blowing myself up :)

I have a 32 Magnum Ruger SP101 and I shoot mags and 32 S&W Long out of it with no problem as its made to do so. Enjoy. :)

First, it makes no sense at all.

Second, you may have read it wrong.

The SAAMI unsafe combinations site says to not use .32 Long Colt in H&R Magnum guns.

It also says to not use the .32 Long Colt, the .32 Short Colt, or the .32 ACP in .32 S&W Long (also known as .32 Colt New Police) revolvers.

There's no reason to not use .32 S&W or .32 S&W Long cartridges in your gun. You'll have to clean it more diligently.

Like others have said --the .32 S&W "short" and the .32 S&W Long are fine to shoot in a revolver chambered for .32 H&R Mag. --- I have Rugers that have thousands of rounds of my .32 S&W Longs thru them and NEVER had any kind of problem.
