Hey guys I have a problem. I need a 32 short colt reamer. I would prefer to rent. I tried Elk Ridge Reamers. They do not carry. Would appreciate some help.

Most of the firearms I work on are in these older calibers. This one is on a Remington Rolling Block. Originally chambered in the 32 rimfire. The 32 rimfire and 32 short colt are the same chamber dimension. The short colt is center fire so the conversion makes sense if you have a nice little rolling block in that caliber that you would like to shoot. The rifle was brought to me with a botched centerfire breechblock conversion. I straightened that out only to find that the chamber is bad as well.
I was hoping that one of the readers could put me on to a reamer without buying a new reamer. A new reamer costs ~ $145.00. I can't imagine people lining up to have rifles chambered in this caliber.

Just running on my meager info on .32 Short Colt case dimensions?
But it looks like the straight wall case should measure .313".

A standard 5/16 machine reamer is .3125".
And costs $12 bucks.

Seems like you could use one of those, and get another .001-.002" chamber clearance from final polishing.

Or use an adjustable expanding reamer and cut it exactly what it needs to be.

You can do the rim countersink on a lathe.

Great idea rcmodel.
The customer brought me a box of 32 short colt factory ammo. Dimensions from these I can use to do the chamber. Base and mouth dimensions on the case are .316. Driving band dia. on the bullet is .324. I will have to double check to make sure but a letter reamer or possibly a metric reamer just might do the trick.
Sometimes you get too close to a project to look at alternatives.

Thanks again for your help.
