yup,
i need some .32 sabot for my .50 cal. i haven't seen any on the net. the rifle i am getting will be .50 and out of deer season i can only carry a .32 around here (nova scotia, canada eh).

i know about swappin barrels but my "to be" traditions is a flinter and i can only find replacment barrels in .32 that a percushen (and again it's a flinter).

-not to mention-sabots are alot cheaper than a new barrel/gun. do .32 for a .50 cal barrel exist??i already floated one by the wife to test her reaction to buying "another new gun!!!"

i guess we all know that story eh? i hope i can get her interested is BP. she knows enough about rifes from listing to me babble on about this, that , and this other thing, i have done, i am doing, or i am going to do.

thanks, shoot straight, and have some good clean fun !!!

ps-please send link if possable.

The smallest .50 sabots that I know of shoot .40 caliber bullets.

I wouldn't recommend buying an extra .32 barrel unless you shoot the new gun first and like it. What if it doesn't spark good? Then you'll need a better replacement lock. Maybe you should just consider a better rifle.
Also, a .32 GM barrel can be heavy if it's too long, although it can always be shortened.

Anyway, here's some ideas to consider.

1. There's an outfit that listed a .32 Deerhunter percussion rifle.
Maybe they have spare .32 Deerhunter barrels that can be converted to flint for a reasonable price. Or maybe they can build you one from a CVA barrel.
They have a lot of expertice with Traditions & CVA guns.
They don't have a website, and if they were affected by flooding in Indiana they should be back by now.

2. This outfit has some .32 Green Mountain barrels for sale, but I'm not sure which size octagon you would need, 7/8 or 15/16:

They have one in stock that's a Green Mountain part #GMT-32-C-36 that is 15/16th's octagon, 36 inches, 1 in 48" twist, 6.44 lbs., crowned, 9/16 - 18 thread (for breechplug), $94.75

But if it was the right diameter, it needs a breechplug to fit Traditions (or whatever), a barrel lug, sights, drill the vent & a vent liner.
You may need to call them. They build barrels but I don't know if they will fit a Traditions because it needs a hooked Traditions breechplug or the equivalent of whatever it uses.

It's the 3rd barrel down:

3. Green Mountain barrels has done some special orders too, but you need to call them and ask for exactly what you need. They've done that for some TC flint guns in the past, and the same TC drop in flint barrels may also fit Lyman guns.
So if they say that they will do it for you, then consider buying a TC or Lyman flint gun, either new or used.
