So, what is the recoil like on that? For reference I shoot a Mod. 60 3" stainless .357 mag. I'm interested in a snubby .45 colt or acp but am curious how bad the recoil would be. I keep hearing that the lightweight .357 snubbies are not good to shoot.
I carry mine in a custom Kydex holster made by Ready Tactical Products (www.pistolpacking.com). It is the holster I carry day in and day out, and is the holster I have started using in local IDPA matches.
The recoil on the firearm is substantial, but not offensively so...at least to me. I found 185 gr bullets to help control the recoil a bit; plus, I found that some of the 230 gr bullets will pull out of the cases from recoil by the time you get around the cylinder, which is obviously not good, a problem not shared with the Remington UMC 185s that I use.
I like the gun a good bit and carry it when the weather or circumstances permit (i.e., a jacket is appropriate). And since I also carry a pocket snubby revolver everywhere, the training for one is training for the other.
I did get mine slicked up and replaced the stock mainspring with a lighter weight one, and the results are very satisfactory.
