farbarn If the gun is a revolver and has a S&W logo on the left hand side of the frame, then it is a .32-20 Hand Ejector model of 1905 4th Change, this is a revolver built on S&Ws medium sized 'K' frame, chambered for the .32-20 Winchester Centerfire Cartridge (WCF CTG is the abbreviation). These were made between 1915 & 1940 in the serial number range 65701 to 144684. Heat treating of cylinders (to handle higher pressures from improved gun powder) started in 1919 at serial number 81287, so your gun should be safe to shoot with modern ammunition, providing it is labelled as being for rifle and revolvers. Rifle only ammunition may be higher pressure again.
In excellent condition it may be worth as much as $750 to a collector, but value quickly drops if it shows wear or modifications.
