fine rifle, were you at a shooting school?,.welcome to THR.
No, not at all. This is the FallShoot I host every year. The night prior, we taught all the ranging distance classes, wind reading classes, and this was the next day out on the long-ish distance range. The was the biggest rifle we had, so I re-zero'd it for 500 yards for the owner, and shot it at 845. After the long-ish range this day, we had the high-angle classes that night. High angle was the next day. Here was High-ish Angle, during the Spring Shoot prior. I host two shoots a year, with training. No fee, just friends from all over the country. I have the distance, so mi casa su casa. Come on out to AZ.
I was already sitting in the rocks - and got handed the rifle. That's the reason you hear me ask "Chambered?..." It was.
I apologize... because of the Grendel Fever...This is no way to treat a man who already has MRAD fever.
I have the distance to go out to 2200 yards, with a solid backstop. I just don't have anything that will get that far. Yet. My Spring Shoot is coming up in 2.5 weeks, and we're going 1300 yards on long day. High-angle day will see shots in excess of 40 degrees down. We'll see how this goes for everyone. Range it, compute your down angle, make your shot - you either got it, or you didn't. No aids - all field expedient methods. Nothing electronic, no laser range finders - just YOU. I'll report the results here.looks like fun, wish i had the distance to shoot that fare. i just started talking to my cousin ( have not seen him in 10 years). he has some black dirt fields and i think we could get out to 500, but that's not much even for my 308win.
98Z, I live in Peoria. We've do you guys shoot? I'd love to join you someone.
