Some .358 jacketed soft points and jacketed round nose bullets seem to be a bit expensive and a little hard to find. These go for a lot less.
I see the choice in weight are 180 200 and 220 generally for a model 14 pump rifle.
I have loaded quite a few 180 grain in both.
So, I'm thinking of using lubed cast and powder coated. This is a short range rifle. 100 yds or less would be as far as I would shoot it in the woods so I guess the bullets I've already made can go hunting and for just unloading cases at a range, I thought I could save some money and try out some lead stuff.
I'm sure these would work hunting whitetails too.
I have a few pics of bullets I'm looking at. Has anyone loaded anything like these and had good results? They are borrowed images. Those hollow points look most interesting.
