I've resized my 30-06 brass to 35 whelen but, it's all around 2.460-465" in length. The book says trim to 2.484" should I trim all the short brass equal, to the shortest case? I have 10 pieces of regular Hornady .35 Whelen brass that after running through the resizing die can be trimmed to the specified 2.484" Thanks for all advice! :)

I've found I don't need to trim until the 2nd or 3rd loading usually of 30-06 converted to 35 whelen. I still check it every time though and square it up if necessary.
