If you shoot much .38spcl ammo in a .357 revolver, you must contend with fouling in the cylinder due to the shorter length of the .38 cartridge. Is this an issue in the chamber of a .357/.38spcl lever action rifle?

Thanks for the info.

Yes

Also, with .44mag lever guns.

My wife's Rossi 92 chmaber was so fouled that I couldn't get a .44mag to cahmber, let alone extract.

another trick is.....

taking a .38 cal bronze brush, getting it good & wet with hoppes #9
and mounting it on one lenght of cleaning rod. Take the other end
and put it into a drill. The drill & brush quickly takes off excess crud.

:D

Pretty much ditto to what's been said. One tip that works for me: when cleaning the chamber, use a bore brush of the next-largest caliber and plenty of solvent. Much cheaper than a dedicated chamber brush, and more effective than a bore brush in the 'right' caliber.

Personally, I've found it to be more of a problem when lead bullets are used. One reason that my standard handloads for both revolvers and carbines are now assembled with .357 brass exclusively. Plus, I don't have to keep readjusting all of the dies on my progressive anymore.
