So, ever since I discovered I could shoot 110 grain .357 ammunition without pain, I’ve been carrying my GP100 revolver more regularly. What I’d like to find is a way to carry a belt pouch or two of spare ammunition. These could be leather or nylon. Anything with 6 rounds or more is fine, but if they’ll fit 8 rounds—that’s 2 extra rounds of Just In Case!
  • Any reviews of the TUFF Products 8-shot strips?
  • Is the Bianchi Speed Strip still the best?
  • I’ve seen a Michael’s case with a double stack of ammo, but all the reviews say this is very bulky and hard to live with.
  • A case with loops that holds 6 rounds in loops is fine too.
Thanks for your feedback.

This case is from Galco:

Works like this:

And this slide is from El Paso Saddledy:

The case can get unsnapped and cartridges lost. They are not a snug fit in the case. I prefer the loops, though they must be snug. When they loosen up, I glued a small strip of leather on the slide under the loop.

What about the speed-six type speedloader pouches from Safariland or Galco? They really take away the bulk from speedloader carry.

I use the coyote brown nylon Tuff Products cases for all my 22, 38/357 , 44, & 45 CCW revolvers. I have twice more, all loaded by caliber. I just didn’t dig them all out. I always wear two pouches on my left side. Even though the pouches are supposed to handle two Quickstrips, I only load one per pouch because they ride flatter on the belt and do not take up space that way. Much easier to conceal and carry than magazines. Another one of many reasons I prefer revolvers for CCW. There are pouches for 5-shot, 6-shot and 8-shot Quickstrips. Got several in all sizes. Again, not all shown. I EDC shot shells because I live in the woods and run up on a lot of copperheads and timber rattlers. These do not pop open and dump your loads like the Galco pouches. I know...got them too. These are better.

A button down shirt pocket on your strong side works well for both loose ammo, speed strips, and speed loaders.

When shooting my Model 17 S&W 22LR revolver. I'll grab a couple handfuls of 22LR and load them into my left hand shirt pocket (I'm left handed) and go plink around my ranch. Right hand goes in left shirt pocket to grab the loose ammo for reloads.

Safariland Comp IIIs and some good belt pouches for them is the way I carry.

S&W Model 10 heavy Barrel, The Holster is a Safariland 567 and the Speedloaders are Safariland Comp III's and the speed-loader pouches are made by Master-Tac

I usually carry a speed loader for a full reload and a DeSantis 2x2 pouch for a partial reload when carrying a revolver. The rounds in the 2x2 pouch are a snug fit. Never had an issue of losing the rounds. I also use a speed strip in a Safariland dump pouch that's over 40 years old.

Been doing this for almost 45 years and it's worked for me.

I like the 2x2x2 that BobWright shows in post #2. When I carry one nobody knows what it is. I can wear an open sports jacket with the revolver behind my hip, and the 2x2x2 on the front of my belt. A brown belt, brown boots, brown holster, and brown 2x2x2 and I am ready to go to town.

A nylon glove case will also hold two speed strips, and also doesn't scream "Gun!", but it doesn't always fit into my wardrobe needs.

I still would like to know what was meant by "belt slide" in the title. Something I never heard of???
