My buddy told me today he ordered a 357 barrel that he can just drop into his Glock 27 (40 S&W). I got to thinking later on about this. I own the same gun and wondered is what he said is as easy as all that. Where can I order suck a barrel, will it require gunsmithing, can I still drop my 40 S&W barrel back in the gun and expect it to work as it once did. Will I need new mags or can the 40 S&W mags work? Has anyone actually done this conversion and how did it come out?

Stock Glock 33 barrel will work. Lone wolf, kkm, and storm lake make after market barrels that will work as well. Yes, it's very common for people to do this. I have .357 sig barrels for all my .40 Glocks. Practice with cheap easily reloaded 40 and carry .357 sig. I and most others I know use the same mags.

I have a .357 SIG and a .40 S&W barrel for my SIG P229 and you literally field strip the gun and swap the barrel. In the case of the SIG (and maybe the Glock) both Calibers use the same magazine. It even has .40 S&W AND .357 SIG stamped on the mag

I recently put a lone wolf extended and ported barrel for a 33 into my 27, love it, easy as pie (assuming you can field strip) and was much money wise, check out some of the glock specialized sites such as rockyourglock.com and glockmeister.com and glockstore.com
