Looking at loading some mid-range loads in .357 mag. I see where Ramshot lists Silhouette w/ 158gr bullets in .38+P, but I didn't see anything in .357 mag. .38+p is probably pretty close to what I'm trying to do, but I'm using 357 brass. Anyone using Silhouette in .357 mag? Any thoughts on the difference in case capacity between .38 and .357?

Thanks.

The only thing I have tried with Silhouette in .38 or .357 was 6.5 Grs in .38 cases with a Powerbond 125 Gr bullet loaded to 1.440 OAL.

4" Model 10 HB

Powder back was: Hi=1028..Lo=848..Avg=947..ES=180..SD=69

Powder forward was: Hi=610..Lo=418..Avg=521..ES=192..SD=86

I did not test a higher charge to see if it settled things down any. It was very position sensitive at this power/pressure level with this bullet weight.

Ramshot Silhouette is the old Winchester Action Pistol (WAP) powder, hiding behind a new label. It works best at maximum loadings and will result in incomplete burns with medium loadings, with lots of unburned powder in the barrel, etc.

Any loading data for WAP can be used for Silhouette, but as always work your load up. There are better powders for your desired use, though.

Hope this helps.

I'm going to look through my powder supply and see what else I can dig up. Maybe HP38 or HS6.

Thanks for all the info.
