Does that make this on topic?
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my previous post, but I find it interesting that the people who have pm’d me since the thread was closed understood that I was trying to initiate a dialogue as to how stereotypes and gender roles influence the choices we make as to how we defend and take care of our families. I still think that is far more “on topic” than some other threads I have read on here.
Unfortunately several people who did respond in the thread couldn’t see that through the cloud of their own testosterone and seemed to assume that I was an individual who was trying to clear up some personal incongruity regarding my genitals. I find that interesting. It says a lot about the mindset of people today. I guess the masses are just not ready for such a discourse.
But again, maybe I just wasn’t straightforward enough with my intentions. I wonder what some of those people would think if I told them that I spent 20+ years of my life as a stage actor/ director before my injuries forced me into retirement. I’m sure that would make up their minds that their opinion was correct. Huh… fascinating.
P.S. Despite what I am sure most will think about the tone of this post, I am not at all upset... just... fascinated.
