Does that make this on topic?

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my previous post, but I find it interesting that the people who have pm’d me since the thread was closed understood that I was trying to initiate a dialogue as to how stereotypes and gender roles influence the choices we make as to how we defend and take care of our families. I still think that is far more “on topic” than some other threads I have read on here.

Unfortunately several people who did respond in the thread couldn’t see that through the cloud of their own testosterone and seemed to assume that I was an individual who was trying to clear up some personal incongruity regarding my genitals. I find that interesting. It says a lot about the mindset of people today. I guess the masses are just not ready for such a discourse.

But again, maybe I just wasn’t straightforward enough with my intentions. I wonder what some of those people would think if I told them that I spent 20+ years of my life as a stage actor/ director before my injuries forced me into retirement. I’m sure that would make up their minds that their opinion was correct. Huh… fascinating.

P.S. Despite what I am sure most will think about the tone of this post, I am not at all upset... just... fascinated.

Dude, if you title your thread with some off-topic metaphysics, and then ramble on about your housekeeping duties, you can expect it to be kicked off. No matter what you wanted your thread to focus on, it wasn't going to be that way. For good or ill, people DO respond without reading the first post very closely or at all.
