.357 Rifle

Any pistol caliber carbine is a 100 yard proposition. I don't see that as a problem. I have a 7mm rem mag for reaching out there, and a couple of other rifles. The little 92 is very versatile, easy to carry in the woods, and handy, though. No, it's not a bean field, or in Texas, sendero rifle.

Another strong vote for the Rossi-family 1892 in .357. Yes, you have to take the action apart and smooooooth it out, swap in a sping kit and maybe invest in an aluminum magagzine follower but all of that is cheap compared to the fun you'll have.

Mine has run for 25 years just fine without all that. If I was into SASS, I'd just send mine to www.stevesgunz.com and get it worked over.

I did the work on mine and was very happy with the results. Mine was made in this century and the fit and finish on the action left quite a bit to be disired. A good friend of mine had a Rossi 92 that was an age to yours and it was just perfect, and he never had to do any work on it at all.

If you handload the .38 spls to .357 mag OAL, then feeding should be no problem in a pump or lever. Not chamber ringing might be a problem, but not feeding.

Just alot of fun

I've got a 92 puma large loop carbine and enjoy it. I'm sure the marlin would be equally enjoyable, the point is do it! You won't be sorry.38+p flies out of the barrel pretty well also.it's swings like a red rider, so you got to get use to slowing down on the move. money well spent.you can never have too many 38/357 guns.
