Until today, my favorite 357 SIG load was Speer 147 gr GDHP over 11.2 gr AA#9.

Today I tried the Remington 147 gr JHP's that Midway sells in bulk - $66/1000.

They shoot just as good as the Speers, for a lot less cost.

This load chronos 1080 fps average from a 3.9 inch barrel. That is middle ground between min and max according to AA data.

They are relatively mild shooting - for 357 SIG, anyway - and hold a nice tight group very flat-shooting out to 25 yards (maybe more; didn't try them on the rifle range).

They are very clean burning with little muzzle flash. It is a compressed load, which is probably a good thing in 357 SIG.

Bullet choice being tricky for 357 SIG, given the need for a shorter profile, thought I would share this.

Why 147's

The 357 Sig really comes into it's own with the 124-125 grain flat point projectiles. I have a couple loads that use regularly with the West Coast .355 124gr FP bullets. 10.5 gr of Blue Dot 1.130 oal, this one is a real blast, literally. A head turner. On the more mild side 8.4 gr of Vhitavouri N350 OAL 1.125 still very fast, but feels more mild.

Zero

we almost have the same load.i use rainier 124 fp bluedot 10.5 at a col of 1.143.no need to worry about bullet set back it has no where to go case is full but the speer book goes to 11 grains of bluedot.never take another persons word on data not even mine.it is accurate but not as fast as a case full of power pistol.i have a 5 inch barsto barrel in 357 sig can't wait to get it fitted, thanks, keith
