So I am looking into creating some SWC or SWC HP's for my .38 and I'd like to run some of them through my .357 too.

As I am looking at bullets I see .357 bullets for either or but all of the bullets for .38 are shown as .358 size.

So, can you shoot the .358's from your .357 Pistol without harming anything??

Does a .357 bullet seat sufficiently in a .38 to prevent any problems??

Any other precautions, observations or knowledge you'd like to share would be appreciated.

Thanks!

either will work just fine. The .358 sizes you are looking at are probably lead bullets. Cast or swedged lead bullets are usually sized .358 diameter. Bores in many .357 Mags are .358 dia. BTW

Rule of thumb for bullet diameters are Plus .001 for lead and right on for jacketed. I used unsized .359dia homecast bullets for years with nary a problem. They were, however, light target loads. Quantrill
