Can't you run 308 brass into a 358 Winchester sizing die and have the 358 after you trim to length?

That's how I make all my 7-08 brass, from cheap and abundant once fired 308 brass.

I'm thinking about having a 358 Win, barrel made for my Encore.

I'd use either the tapered expander or multiple expander balls, start with an 8mm, then .338 and finish with .358.

Tapered takes a lot less time/steps.

Annealing cases would give you a lower loss/reject rate.

I do it all the time, but I do use a tapered expander. .358 RCBS F/L die. Lube the inside of the neck well and one easy pass. I haven't lost any brass doing this. I shoot a Browning 81 BLR.

Every single piece of my 358 brass started as 308. I anneal before expanding the neck, but that might be overkill.

Yup! That's about it! Measuring before you trim. Most likely you won't need to trim. I don't crimp .358, so oal isn't that significant. Just check it isn't too long.

not a problem.
lube inside the cases too and a tapered expander/sizing mandrel works best like others already suggested.
Don't rush it and you will be fine.
