I suppose I didn't articulate the current status of the bolt situation. I am using a bolt and extension specifically designed for the .473 bolt face by a well known manufacturer that has been running this setup with rounds that regularly operate at 65k psi for the past 8 years. I am not using a standard extension, nor am I using a 5.56 bolt that has been machined to accept a .473 case head.

I appreciate the well wishes and concern.

Is this an ARP Super-bolt and extension? I think they make a .473 bolt and extension for their AR 270 cartridge. I would feel pretty good with something from them, based on their reputation.

You're thinking of the ARP 800 series bolt. I do have a few of those on different cats, but that is not what I am using for the 358 Yeti, as production on them has been suspended

Livn, I have never been interested in wildcat chamberings, and although ARs are good guns I don't own one. In fact, my rifle is a .30-06. Call me old fashioned. BUT, however, an easily loadable (and mild?) .358 has got me interested. I can see using that cartridge in a single-shot carbine, or such. Just to have it and play with it. So.... consider me interested in how this comes out. I've never ordered special reloading dies, so if there's some kind of discount with a group buy, let us know. I think a big, heavy .358 solid would be very fun to check out.

Just wanted to let anyone that's interested know that I have a couple of spots left on the first barrel order if you're interested in getting involved, PM me

Also, if you're on Facebook, feel free to join the 358 Yeti Discussion and Development page for the most up to date information

If this was Ohio deer legal, I would've just broken my arm grabbing for my wallet.

I'd build a 12" upper for my sig-braced pistol lower with a TRS-25 red dot.

with a short magazine, it'd be one of the greatest carbines for a deer drive with all the brush.
