Looking for loads for .225 gr. sp hornadys, and 220 gr. hornady FP's.Basically brush gun loads for white tails, and black bears.Also heavier bullets if anybody has any.Can't find anything anywhere worthwhile, except the hodgens guide, and they only list for their powders.I would really like to use IMR 4895, or 4064, since I have some already, and have heard that either would work well for this load.

Hornady Manual 6th Edition starts with the 225 grain and finishes with the 300 grain. Not going to violate their copyright but the loads are about what you might expect given Fr. Frog's posted loads. Personally I use 4895, given that I have it on hand. Hornady printed loads use WLR primers, IIRC loads posted on the Scout site are partial to Federal 215.

I couldn't find any loads posted on the scout site.I found some for .308 but not the .376.What grain bullets are you using with 4895?If it's 225 gr. can you tell me what charge of 4895 is giving the best accuracy in your gun.I have 100 pcs. of hornady brass that is primed from the factory.

Eric Ching's Loads are all over the web

I've settled on 260 grain bullets for everything myself - as a practical matter I change rifles as much as loads these days. That said I'd expect something almost exactly half way between 50 and 60 grains IMR 4895 to suit you with your lighter bullets - taking those as starting and begin to pay close attention limits - I do insist on some guide from lab tested loads (hoping they've been tested at different temperatures, powder orientations and so on as say Ed Matunas has written about the loads he published for Lyman) as I age but I also find the Hodgdon listings you reference for H4895 are not that different from IMR 4895 numbers.

Eric Ching has his load development posted but only with heavier bullets:

As it turned out, 61.4 grains was the magic number, averaging 2304 fps and producing a spectacular 0.25†three-round cloverleaf one inch above point of aim. The higher and lower loads exhibited vertical stringing and much larger group sizes.

Mr. Ching goes into much more detail. I'll worry more about the 300 grain bullet if I ever go to Africa.

Fr. Frog says speaking of the Hornady 5th Edition manual

suggests that IMR 4895 and BL-C2 are good choices for the 270 gr and 300 gr bullets while AA2230 looks good for the 225 gr bullet

The Hornady 5th Edition is being clearanced around quite cheaply.

Would you have any idea which powder hornady uses for the 225 gr. loads.in there factory loads??
