I am looking for a Unique load for a 125 grain truncated cone lead bullet, mainly looking for this in 38 special, I am shooting it out of a SA ruger.

Any info is always appreciated

thanks guys I have the Lee manual and have been to the Alliant website but wondered if I should make any changes in it being a cast truncated cone bullet. I will go with the unique load and see where it takes me. I already load a 250 g bullet for my 45 colt loads over 8g of Unique and that is a nice load in my S&W and my Ruger SA.

Not too many 125 grain TC revolver bullets out there.
Sure it isn't a .356"/9mm?

Anyway, Lyman #47 list .38 Special 121 grain RN with Unique as:
Starting = 4.0 @ 725 FPS.
Max = 5.7 @ 1,012 FPS.

rcmodel

Careful there, if it is a .356 9mm slug as rcmodel suspects it will have a tendency to lead badly.

Just measured 5 of them and they all measured at .358 the box they came in is dead but I have a tag from the box info

TCBB
125

someone picked them up for me when I guys was selling his reloading equipment and supplies.

I would think any charge listed for a 125gr RNFP bullet will be fine since they have the same approximate bullet height. For my .38 Special I shoot only 148gr DEWC or 158gr LSWC bullets so I'm sorry I can't help you with a 125gr bullet. That may change if I start shooting SASS.
