Picture time. This is my shooter 38/44 Outdoorsman. Someone set it up real nice. It is a target hammer post-war with target grips and a bright finish on the gun. It has not been abused and is nicely accurate and just plain fun to shoot. All groups are 15 yrds with 50 shots, standing offhand in a modified weaver stance.

These were all 38/44 power level reloads using either SR4756, Unique or 2400. I was just playing around. From an accuracy standpoint, the SR4756 is the best but the sample size is too small to draw a solid conclusion. All loads are tossing a 158 MBC SWC right at 1150 to 1175 FPS out of this gun.

This one might just replace my original 38/44 Outdoorsman as my favorite shooter gun.

Peter, you keep practicin' and you're gonna turn into a purty fair shot!!!!

Beautiful gun and danged fine shootin'.

Boy thats a dandy shooter Peter, looks brand new! Nice shooting also, my 38-44 HD isn't quite that good, maybe I ought to let you shoot mine and see if its me ! Ha Might try and replicate your load and see if thats it, nice iron !

Can we share? My first 38/44 outdoorsman has taken the "favorite" spot in my rotation. The problem is non of my targets look that good. I'm sure it is NOT the fault of the ol' piece.
Here it is with the one it "replaced"

I need to take a shot of my 38/44 OD's. For some reason a bunch of them have come available recently I bought I think 5 of them in the last 3 or 4 months. I need to get a shot of all of the new ones.

They are a lot of fun!
