38-55, 32 Win, 30-30, and 25-35 all are of the same base case - 38-55. I really have a desire to get both the 38-55 and the 25-35 - one each for my wife, and one each for me. For some reason, I have no fondness for the 32 Win. I do have a 30-30. Hornady has done Leverevolution for all four.

Just time and money....

I've had and enjoyed my H&R Buffalo Classic chambered in 45-70 for while. I always wanted its smaller brother, the H&R 38-55 Target Classic. They used to be had for less than $300. Those times are long gone, and I would consider a 38-55 a reloaders proposition for any quantity of shooting due to ammo prices and the mismatched bore/chamber sizes that some rifles had.

Did you mistype the model number, or am I reading it incorrectly? Model 73 Winchesters were available in .38-40. I think the first Winchester in .38-55 was the 1894.

I have a Marlin 1893 in .38-55. Probably my most accurate lever gun with hard cast 240 grain bullets and a moderate load. Interesting cartridge but not all that much better than .30-30 in my 336.
Im sure youre right, but Ill try to dig it out and take some pics. I need to get to work on it soon anyway.:)

The 38-55 is a wonderful mild mid bore and is a ton of fun to shoot and hunt with- I have a 94 carbine and have taken whitetails with it- it's easy to reload and accurate-

....buy one you will love it.
