Anyone know if the 38 super brass is any different from brass marked 38 super +p? Is it like the .38 special and .38 special +p in that the only difference is the head stamp, to keep one from putting +p loads in a gun not rated for it? I wonder because Starline has different prices on the two. Thanks in advance.

I dont have your answer unfortunately, but if you happen to have one or two of each you could try weighing them to see if there is a difference. that should give you some idea....I know i picked up some .38 super brass a while back, ill dig thru my random case bag tomorrow and see if i can find it.

You would have to ask Starline for more information than they put on their www advertisement.

There are two SAAMI specifications, .38 Auto at 26500 psi and .38 Super Auto +P at 36500 psi. There is no intermediate .38 Super Auto "non plus P," because .38 Super IS +P relative to the .38 Auto.

If I were to GUESS, I might say that the $87 +P Starline might be beefed up to be overloaded to Major power factor whereas the $82 brass is meant for standard loads, but still up to the SAAMI maximum.
But if so, then what do they mean that the +P is of "similar internal dimensions?"
