.380 defense loads

"I wouldn't carry a .380 for self defense" should have been an option in this poll. Friends don't let friends carry a .380 for self defense....:uhoh:
 
Can't agree.

Don't confuse a .380 SD belly gun with a Cops need to be able to shoot through car windshields and doors!

Look at the performance test MICHAEL T linked too above.

If you can get 12"+ with expansion, you are much better off then getting 17" with an ice-pick wound in one side and out the other.

I have shot enough game to know the dramatic effect an expanding bullet through the boiler room makes over just a small hole.

I see your point. I guess the Rem GS 102gr needs a 380 with a longer barrel to expand. Maybe I"ll switch to a lighter faster round in my LCP (if I can find any ammo!).
