Just came from a local shop in Southern California picking up a new pistol.

While I was there, I spotted a Parkerized .38 Super Mil-Spec. I assumed it was used and asked to see it. It was for $579 and seemed new. I asked and was told that SA was again producing the pistol and this was a recent one received through their distributor.

Hopefully, we'll see more of these and the info I got was true. Just wish they made it with a traditional slide. Just don't like the slanted slide serrations as much.

The SA website shows a nickle finished Mil-Spec in .38 Super (P89114L) http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-ms.shtml But I didn't see any other 1911 pistol in that caliber. Davidson's doesn't show it as something that they carry in that caliber at all.

Wonder if the shop got it in trade for something else? SA used to have a number of .38 Super's but it may not have been that popular of a pistol. The price seems pretty low as the nickle plated one has an MSRP of around $1275
