I have no problems with .379 dia moly lube cast bullets in my Legendary Frontiersman Winchester.
However, jacketed bullets, namely Hornady JHP, keyhole regardless of the powder weight.
Any suggestions out there other then to stick with cast bullets?

I would suggest slugging the bore of your rifle and find out what the actual diameter is. That would answer your question.

Hope this helps.

Some .38-55s have a bore diameter in excess of .380. The .375 inch jacketed bullets will perform in them just like you described. They are intended for the .375 Winchester. Barnes makes a .377 diameter jacketed bullet. There may be others larger than .375 out there.
