I found one in a local gun shop for $350. The finish is about 80% and the build numbers on the frame and cyl don't match. It is tight and functions well.

Is it worth the $350?

IMO an 80% gun is rather high at $350.

The exact model would help. Is it a Model 18 or an early 22 Combat Masterpiece?

Not aware of "build numbers" on S&W cylinders. Guns made in the 1950s and earlier had the serial stamped on the back of the cylinder and this should match the number on the butt.

It is a pre-18 K-22. The serial numbers say it is from 1954 but the numbers do not match.

it is from 1954 but the numbers do not match.

Which numbers don't match? The barrel/frame, frame/grips, or the numbers inside the yoke cut and the frame? The only ones that matter are the first pair, really. $350 may be a decent deal based on mechanical condition.
