#4 long range vs. #4 buck: What's the difference?

A friend just sold his shotgun and gave me a box of shells. They're Remington #4 shot long range. 3 3/4 dram 1 1/4 ounce #4 shot. Is this similar to #4 buck? Sorry if it's been discussed, search button isn't working for me right now.
 
Notice the two different number 4 shot sizes in the image below. The smaller of the two - the two upper rows - is #4 Shot, the larger - bottom row - is #4 Buck Shot. The top row shows plain unplated lead shot, the middle plated shot, and the bottom unplated Buck Shot.

Thank you. A little google searching and the image it yielded made it easy on me. I thank whomever it was out there who made the great visual aid.
