STI offers the Trojan 5.0 and 6.0 in .40 S&W. Les Baer makes .40 S&W pistols. Kimber and Colt have made them.
I have a Trojan 6.0 in .40 S&W and I have been pleased with it.

Colt made a few, good luck finding one.
Kimber made a bunch, I see then once in a while and they had fully supported chambers and ramped barrels.
Springfield Armory Inc. has made some.
As previously stated, Para Ordnance had their versions too.

If you're going to have a gun big enough for a 45 ACP but want a .40 cal, I'd recommend a 10mm. Get the extra round and more power. But that's just me. I only have one 1911 pattern gun, a Delta Elite.
Hi Folks, first time poster, long time lurker.
I've owned a Colt Delta Elite for over a decade. Bought an Ed Brown .40 S&W barrel group (barrel, springs, bushing) for it a while ago because the ammo is cheaper to buy. The advantage here is that you can shoot the hotter 10mm if needed. It has been 100% reliable with the 10mm stuff but will jam with a FTF about once every 40 rounds in .40 S&W. I think better magazines would help but it's tough to find 'em for the .40 S&W. Overall its been a good shooter with over 5000 rounds so far. My opinion - I find the rumors about the Delta being fragile are unfounded.

(Strayer Voigt Inc.), which makes the Infinity line of single and double-stack 1911's. LOTS of innovations, very high quality (and wait time) and a list of options that makes them custom pistols.
The .40 S&W models are usually found winning USPSA Limited events.

Tory hit the nail on the head. I mainly want it for USPSA Limited 10. Right now I'm using my CZ40B and love it, but I have an itch for a new toy and would really like another 1911.

My buddy just built a .40 on the 1911 platform for a Gamer using Caspian Frame and Slide . Two bbls, twenty mags and the "good stuff" inside and out.
The Gamer just had to have and shelled out the green to play.
I ran it , it runs.
In the first week 3K rds have been shot....nary a glitch with either bbls . He paid the price to play though.
My buddy and I both HATE the .40. " If they want it - I "might" built it - but the cash is upfront and built my way - the right way... Cosmetics they can input...unless it screws up the running". - the builder.
