All guns are different. Pick your components, start low and work your way up. Are you trying to make power factor for IDPA or USPSA/IPSC?

If your shooting at Minor PF using a Glock 22 you'll be hard pressed to find a better combination than:

Rainier 180 Grain FP or 180 Zero JHP
3.5 Grains TiteGroup
OAL: 1.130
Crimp: .422

Makes minor with ease, cycles a stock spring, soft-shooting and plenty accurate.

What kind of brass?

Brass?...anything but AMERC and I'm not keen on PMC brass in .40 but would use it in a pinch. Winchester, CCI/ Blazer, Ficcohi/GLL, Federal, R/P plus a few others work well for me. On a low pressure, minor load like I mentioned above, most brass will be fine. FWIW, my wife's CCW renewal comes up tomorrow and she'll shoot my G-35 with that load...using some PPU "drop & leave it" brass. She likes the feel better than her G-26. ;)

I have also used 165 gr Berry's with 3.7 gr Clays for .40 minor. The recoil is almost funny, it shoots so soft.
