Hi All!

I figured I'd post some results for reloading .400 Corbon. I developed the load in a very hand-wavey fashion, taking the mid loads for 180 gr. 10mm and moving up from there. I was using a Lone Wolf 6" barrel in a Glock 21 (Lone Wolf doesn't make a stock length .400 Corbon barrel :( ).

None of these showed pressure signs beyond what is normal from factory ammunition in my Glock: minor cratering and definite striker channel embossing. Primer flattening was minimal (much more like .40 S&W 155 gr. Hornady ammo than a 10mm 180 gr. Remington ammo).

When working up loads, I will weigh bullets individually to give me a better idea of what the results are telling me. That averages are on here. The target COAL was 1.200". I did not figure that loading them a tad long would hurt, especially for an unpublished load. I may try them again with a COAL closer to 1.200".

WARNING: These loads are for informational use. If you decide to use these loads, you do so at your own risk. You assume full responsibility if you get hurt using this data or trying to duplicate it in any way; it is your own fault...

Good info.

I had a .400 Corbon barrel around 20 years ago, and had worked a 180 gr. bullet up to around 1200 fps. using Win-540.

The biggest issue I had was the lack of adequate neck tension. The neck was so short that bullet setback was always an issue, with both reloads and factory ammo.

Come to think of it, I still have a box of Corbon factory ammo around here somewhere.
