Gander Mountain has a NIB s&w 4006 for 399.00 40 Cal Is that a good price?

I haven't priced them lately, but it doesn't sound too bad. I got mine last year (4006, LNIB, pre-TSW) for $325 + tax if memory serves. I would happily pay $399 for it all over again, it's a wonderfully accurate weapon, one that I will most likely probably never wear out.

I did replace the grips with the curved backstrap version, made it a little more comfortable for my big paws. The only failures I've had with this weapon were my own fault, I tended to let my thumbs rest too close to the slide stop causing the slide to lock open prematurely or not lock open on an empty mag. Simply adjusting my grip took care of that problem and the failures haven't occured since.

CDNN has like-new custom .40 4006 for 349.99. Figure in transfer fees and shipping and its not that much more to get it from Gander Mt. I would just get the one from Gander. So what if its a little less at some internet site, keep the money in your community and take it home tomorrow.
