Years ago, I used the Rem. 180 gr. JHP loaded to 1275 FPS from my Ruger .44 mag for deer hunting and while it would pass through a broadside buck and kill quickly, I wanted something a bit heavier in case shoulder bone or multiple ribs were struck. I'm currently using a 210 gr. JHP in .44 mag for plinking / hope to use for deer round . I load it on top of 11.1 grs. of Unique for 1200 + FPS. I realize it's not near max, but it's very accurate, controllable, and I think if placed well, will do well on responsible deer shots @ 25 yards and under. Do any of the rest of you favor a 210 JHP ( or even 200 gr ) at about 1200 FPS from your .44 or .41 mags for deer or hogs ? Performance ? Thanks.

Geo, looks like there aren't too many 41 & 44 mag shooters here but just in case I'll BUMP this for ya!

Thanks JPWilly. My guess is most fellas load their 44 mags much warmer for deer hunting when using this bullet weight, and that's fine, as it certainly will do the job too. My .44 mag load isn't even a top .41 mag load . Hope you and yours haved a blessed Thanksgiving.
