Since I intended center fire, as was being discussed, maybe I should edit it to say that. I certainly know about .22s and .17 HMR.

I don't know what a "Deagle" is, but I do recognize Desert Eagle.

Is the Coonan or the LAR Grizzly still in production, like I should have known? The trivia is interesting though.
 
Well fella's add me to the club I got it on layaway 6 inch tube new model Blackhawk made 15 years ago or so with only 28 rounds down the pipe and a faint turn line me :D

The Desert Eagle needed little cleaning and lubing between those two stages to get running smoothly again. Match ammo was Remington 200gr JHP propelled by 17.9 grains of AA No.9.

I'm just a recreational USPSA shooter, and not a very speedy one even with a 1911 or S&W M&P40, but the big honkin' Desert Eagle in .41 Magnum really slows things down just trying to get that large mass of steel moving from target to target. :D

In 1999 Davidsons commissioned a run of 1000 1894 Cowboy Carbine Limited rifles. These have a 20 inch octagon barrel and smooth straight stock.
Davidson also had a run of 251 1894SS-41LTD which are stainless steel with 16.5 inch barrel and grey laminate straight stock.
The last run of .41 Magnums was the 1894FG with 20" barrel and checkered pistol grip walnut stock.

The new (to me) 657 no dash 4" shoots like a champ. My ammo was 20.0 gr 300-MP with 210 gr Berry's PRNFP.
 
Add me to the 41 mag club. Bought mine in 83 and will never give it up. It is too much fun to shoot. Just started back into reloading for it as well since ammo for it is either very pricey or non existant. Thinking about starting to cast as well though still a bit hesitant for that. Has anyone used the Xtreme Bullets in the 41?

Uberti 1873 Carbine .44 Special converted to .41 Magnum and a Jager Mod Super Frontier Super Dakota .41 Magnum.
Though the Uberti is chambered for .41 Magnum I will probably stick with light weight bullets in .41 Special cases at less than 1000fps.
Average velocity using 4.5gr of Trail Boss, 170gr SWC, Starline .41 Special brass is 915fps out of the 19 inch rifle and 717fps out of the 5 1/2 inch Super Dakota.

Finally getting around to trying out some 255 grain bullets I cast several years ago. Ranch Dog designed these specifically for the Marlin 1894 Micro Groove .41 Magnums.
So far they look like they will work.

Average bullet weight for the alloy I used is 263 grains. BHN of 14.3

Alloy is a mixture of wheel weights, 40:1 and monotype that results in a guestimate of 2.8 Tin, 5.4 Antimony, 91.8 Lead. Using a Lee harness tester I got 14.3 BHN a week after casting. The whacking with a 2lb hammer test result was a deformed but not shattered bullet. :)

No barrel leading thus far after 15 rounds.

Took the 50 year old out to the range today.
This is the first .41 Magnum that I ever shot, it is the model 58 that my dad bought back in 1964.

8.1 grains of Unique behind a Lyman 220 gr SWC hit right at point of aim at 15 yards.....My point of aim wanders a bit. :p

I had a Bushnell Phantom on this since the 1980's and I think this is the first time I've shot it since the rear sight was put back on. The old girl sure likes the Lyman 220 grain SWC with a stout load of 2400. Shot from 25 yards sitting......There always has to be one that wanders off on its own. :cuss: :)
