I bought a .41 last fall and gave up on trying to find jacketed stuff. I looked everywhere --- including Midway. Apparantly the .41 is so unpopular (compared with other bullets) that it only gets seasonal runs of bullets and brass. Midway has an "out of stock" label on every .41. My LGS can't remember the last time he saw just bullets (not ammo) in .41. I finally found brass at Cabelas and ordered 100.
So, since I shoot cast lead in all my other guns, I decided to do it in the Blackhawk, too. Missouri Bullet keeps two bullets for the .41 in their stable - http://www.missouribullet.com/results.php?category=5&secondary=23. I like the Trooper. The bullet is good, the gun is good, but me - well, it's gonna take practice to learn how to shoot the Blackhawk well.
I had a Smith -don't remember what model--5 or 6" barrel---that gun was so hard on my hand it made my Redhawk feel comfortable. Its long gone.
Had a Smith SS short barrel--very comfortable to shoot.
Go figure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use that very same mould and it drops straight wheelweights from my stock at an even 200 grains...........I size to .410 in a Lyman 450 & lube with Javellina brand alox.
Bullet shoots quite accurately with stiff 2400 loads.
Nobody that I know of has had any .41 jacleted bullets in stock for months and months, never seen it this bad. I think it is due to the general ammo shortage that has occured for the last year or so. I cast most of my .41 bullets but I do use the 210XTP for deer hunting and can't get any!!!
