Hello,
I haven't reloaded cast bullets yet, but got some Missouri Bullet Company 215 grain SWC . Gun is going to be a Ruger Blackhawk with barrel length of 5.5 inchs. Looking to make some good plinking loads with Hodgdon titegroup using CCI large pistol primers. Cant find much data on light 41 mag loads, anyone here have experience. Hodgdon lists the starting load at 4.5 grains and maximum at 5.5 grains. Looking to use 4.5 grains. Would this be a good load?

Assuming that your data is correct, I would probably go with 5.0 Grs Titegroup

I am using True Blue for light .41 Mag loads.

Hodgdon says the pressure with 5.5 gr titegroup and a 215 gr cast bullet is 17,400 CUP, so that's still a light load.

Using the start load from Hodgson will give you the lightest load. How well it shoots is something you just have to try. I have yet to find a .41 mag load that did not shoot decently though some loads are superb.

I've used TrailBoss for light practice loads, w231 and Unique to reproduce the "police" loads using 215gr LSWC's.
