My favorite shotgun sport is skeet. I started with a 12ga over under. Next I went to a 20 ga over under. After that a 20 ga pump. You might notice I am intentionally making it harder. Last week I bought a Browning BPS 410 pump shotgun. Second day I shot a respectable 22 out of 25. In six months I hope to maintain a solid score using a full choke in my 410 pump.
Anyone else do this??
Whats next....stand on one leg??

:) :) :) :) :)

I saw a gentleman shoot a straight shooting from the hip....you could always give that a try. My personal unusual firearm best is a 14 in trap using an MP5.

What's Next? Shoot it low gun with up to a 3 second delay (Int'l rules)
Shoot all doubles

Or move down to the sporting clays and 5-stand areas for a real challenge... ;)

For the record, I witnessed Tom Held go 19/25 at trap singles with a cute little 410 O/U.

He's a nice guy and speaks fluent Shotgun.

As to the OP's query.....

Try Landfill rats, barn or quarry pigeons, dove, ducks, Card/Turkey shoots, Prac/Tac, quail, ringnecks, 5 stand, 3 gun, Wobble, SC,CAS, IPSC, IDPA, ad infinitum.

Accompany an excited spaniel through bottomland or follow a leggy pointer over a Dakota horizon or a wellbred setter in Georgia pines after divers birds. Or listen to happy beagles doing what they love best. Or sans canines, ease through the hardwoods on a glorious Fall day eyeing the canopy and with some loads of 6 shot weighing your vest in front and some freshly made food in the rear.

That's just some of what you can do.....

Trap 410

Actually a few years ago I was shooting trap with a remington sporting 410 at the 16 yard line. One of the skeet instructors at the range came over and told me I should shoot skeet because trap was to easy for me. I have been hooked on skeet ever since. I have never believed skeet is harder...its just differant and you have to get used to differant.

What's next? Find a pigeon ring, and play with the big boys.

Be advised, lot's of great wing shots embarrass themselves with that game.

pigeon ring

"Live Bird Shooting" (pigeon ring) with a 410.

Occasionally we have a single race (5 bird event) at a ring for 410s. It's interesting. Distance for the shooter from the boxes is 25 yards instead of the normal 32 yards for 12 gauge races. There's 15 yards from the 9 ground boxes to the back fence (2 1/2 feet). 4 out of 5 and sometimes 5 out of 5 birds dropped inside the ring is not uncommon. And it's a lot easier on the shoulder than shooting 4 dram loads of 1 1/4 7s out of a 12 gauge.

Winchester makes a 410 Super Sporting Clays load in 7 1/2 and 8 at 1350 fps. It will hit birds very hard.
