44 mag FTF today

I have been working on some loads for a 44mag Ruger lately and had some failure to fire today. I looked and looked and found that I had tightened the screw on my grips a little too much. The screw apparently is turned with different diameters to accomodate movement of the long bar on the trigger mechanism. If you tighten the screw a couple of wraps too many then the larger diameter of the screw will get in the way. The most I was getting was a little dimple in the primers.

Take off a couple of turns, add some loctite, and continue working up your load.

Which model of Ruger? The Super Blackhawk I've got just uses a regular screw for the grip panels. I'd have to really do it up tight to pull the grip panels in far enough to contact the hammer spring. And the Super Redhawk I've also got has the screw coming up from below. So no contact risk there.

Redhawk or Super Backhawk? I have both and I'm really confused.

This is a Pachmayer grip on a plain ol' Ruger RedHawk, 44 RemMag. There is only one swrew on the grip. It is just about centered on the grip. Don't get me wrong, I love the grips and if I ever needed any others I would get the same because it has great cushioning and is comfortable. Just don't tighten the screw too much.
