I bought some 240 g fmj that were supposesd to be .430. After numerous tries and having problems withe bullet seating to far down (even with my thumb pressure). I measured some of the bullets. They are mostly .427. Anyone know what caliber they are for? So I have about 400 of theses odd ball bullets. I can't think of any gun that I reload uses this size. I tried to use them with changing the bell and it just won/t go down that small.

.427" jacketed bullets would most likely be for a 44-40 WCF revolver or rifle.

Post a picture of the bullets and somebody will jump all over it and ID them.
