.44 special/.45 colt questions

I agree with the simple fact that .44 Special & .45 Colt are really most viable within the domain of the reloader.

Factory .45Colt is plenty for deer, black bear, and hog.....45ACP and especially .44Spl are not......store-bought ain't cheap in the Colt and Special, for sure.
 
handloads colt saa .44 special

3rd generation colts SAA, chambered for .44 special, are they capable of handloads in the 900 - 1000 rangs using 2400 powder. Moderate use. if so do you have any recommendations. Will be using Keith style bullets 240 -250 grains.
 
I prefer the .44 Spl because in my D/A swingout guns, they work better with Speedloaders than the longer .44 Mag or .45 Colt. In a single action gate loader, it wouldn't matter. I suppose that I could use .45 Schofield in a D/A swingout gun, but since I'm already set up in .44, it would be redundant.
