45-70 berry's bullets

I just aquired a 23" bull barrel for my contender in 45-70. I've loaded a few 300 gr rem hp and a few 350 lazer cast with 40 gr and 38 gr loads of IMR3031 These loads were very easy on the shoulder and surprisingly accurate. I picked up a few Berry's 350 gr plated bullets but have found the shape of the bullet makes it impossible to chamber using the oal of 2.550. I have to have them at 2.460 to fit the barrel. I've had to trim the brass down also or the bullets seat way above the cannelure. What I need to know, is this difference in length of case going to be dangerous by causing more preasure? Seems that Berry's had a cannelure placement issue that has since been resolved. Here is a photo from that thread that shows the differences.
