If your barrel is well fit with good rifling, then just focus on setup when you put it in the lathe. Dial in the bore to ensure that the crown is concentric with that instead of the outside of the barrel. Make sure that your cutter is sharp. Ease into the barrel face from the bore outward.

Found through research that taking some extra care with the 1911 crown "can" show up on paper. Got a handful of old barrels to practice on,and work out details on the setup/tooling.
