This might not be the place for this, but has anyone made a Wildcat round out of a .45 ACP bullet and a 30-06 case? I know that to do this with a .308 case takes a BUNCH of fiddleing around...due to the inside diameter (taper) of the .308 case. I'm not talking about cutting down the case to .45 ACP case length...I'm talking about cutting the shoulder and any of the case necessary untill the inside diameter will allow seating of the bullet and allow sufficient outside diameter to headspace on the case. I'm thinking of adding a bit more punch to the .45 (.452) bullet.
If this is inappropriate here, remove it or put it where it should go...

How long do you want it to come out?
Longer than a .45 Winchester/Wildey?
The biggest I know of on a full length '06 is a .400 Whelen. And people worry about it "holding headspace."

Just a thought...

The first thing that came to mind when I read your post was the .460 Rowland. It's not EXACTLY what you described, but the use of .30-06 brass trimmed to appropriate length and inside reamed would probably work.
